September Deals, Meals, and Steals!

Well, hey there! September already?  Doesn't seem possible!  Nobody asked permission from ME for summer to be over.  Oh well.  Moving on!  There's a lot of info here, so make sure you scroll all the way through!

September Deals
Check out the featured specials this month from Thrive!  The Fuji Apples are the Qpon this month--I LOVE those!!!  And the onion slices are AMAZING!  I'm really enjoying using the Gluten Free Flour.  I'm SO glad that we have one more month for getting the Limeade.  This is a seasonal item and once it's taken out, you'll have to wait till summer to get it again!  It's not sweetened--this is great because you can choose your own sweetener but it's also great because you can use it not only as a drink mix, but also as a flavoring for cooking!  Works great in Mexican dishes!

Next.....September Meals

Time for a new jar meal set!!!  Payment is due quicker for this set because I will be gone the last Saturday and can't do the jar meals that day.  I have to allow enough time to receive your payments, order all the ingredients on my credit card, and allow for shipping time!  (Just a quick plug for the Firecracker Chicken Casserole...my super picky teenage boy just asked me if we could have it again for dinner.....WIN!)

I'm offering a $5 discount per set of meals if you join the Q in September.  The Q is just Thrive's online grocery shopping--and if you start your budget at $100 or more for the first 3 months, you will get free shipping on September's Q shipment!  I've been with Thrive for 2 years and this is the first time I've seen them offer free shipping on a Q!  WOOHOO!!!

Call or message me with questions.....I can explain more about the benefits of the Q and you can decide if it's right for you!  You can also visit my website to learn more about the Q.

If you live too far away to participate, ask me about how to set up your own Jar Meal Group Buy where you live.  It's easy and you will also earn host benefits by doing it.1

September Steals

Well, it's not REALLY a steal I guess.  But because I'm promoting the Q this month, I'm offering a special giveaway.  Sign up for the Q in September and I will enter you into a drawing for a FREE #10 can of one of these amazing Thrive meats:  Chopped Chicken, Sausage Crumbles, or Ground Beef.  You can pick whichever meat you like!  Simply start your Q with Thrive in the month of September, and you get entered into the drawing!  So if you win, you'll be "stealing" a can of meat from me.  ;)  Learn more about the Q here.

Now, a bit of advice:  I know a few of you have been tossing around the idea of becoming a consultant.  Now whether that's because you want to own your own business, sell to family and friends here and there, or just get amazing benefits for you and your family, joining Thrive as a consultant is an awesome idea.  I am SO glad that I did it.  You only have to have a monthly $50 Q and buy a starter kit to be a consultant.  That's it!  So, if you are considering it here's the advice......

Start your Q in September to get into my meat drawing
and then

Enroll as a consultant by buying a kit in October!!!
(you'll already be halfway there with your Q!)

Why?  Because I will also be offering a sign up incentive in October!!!!!

Then, you'll be perfectly postured for our big Black Friday sale in November!!
(We have 2 big sales a year and this is one of them!)

If you start a Q under $100 in September and then enroll as a consultant in October, I will reimburse you personally for the shipping you paid on your September Q!

Wow, that was a lot of info!!!  I'm exhausted!  If you've read this far you are a rock star!!!

There's just one more thing I need to share.  Thrive is discontinuing some items that are less popular in order to make room for new and exciting products.  I realize some of you may really love some of these items and will hate to see them go, so I wanted to give you a heads up so that you can order them now while supplies last. Please look over the list and let me know if you need any help in ordering any of these items!

Y'all have a great September!!!  And thank you for your business!!!

Jar Meals: Firecracker Chicken Casserole

I love soups and stews.  I do.

But I love when I find a jar meal recipe that is something other than a soup or stew.

And what's great about this particular jar meal is that it reminds us very much of one of our favorite restaurant apps....the Firecracker Chicken Wraps from Longhorn Steakhouse!

Lots of uses for this dish.  You can eat it atop rice with veggies.  You can stuff it into taco shells, tortillas, or tortilla boats (like in the pic).  You can use it as a dip with tortilla chips.

Have some fun with it!

Ingredients:
2 cup of Thrive Chopped Chicken - Freeze Dried
1 cup Thrive Veloute (Rich Chicken Gravy Sauce)
1/2 cup Thrive Sour Cream Powder
3 tsp. ground cumin
2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 cup. Thrive Green Chilies - Freeze Dried
1/2 cup Thrive Chopped Onions - Freeze Dried

Directions;
In a clean, dry quart jar layer the ingredients in the order listed, tamping down when necessary to accommodate each layer. Place lid on and store to use within a month or so. For longer storage, seal with a vacuum sealer.

To prepare:
Pour the jar contents into a bowl and add 1 1/2 to 2 cups of water.  You want it moist but not loose.  Let it sit in the bowl for 10 minutes.

To use as a casserole:  Spray a 2 quart casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.  Spread the mixture evenly in the pan.  Top with grated cheddar cheese.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Jar Meals: Grandpa's Chili

No other dish reminds me of my Grandpa Davis more than this chili and I was so excited to transform it into a jar meal with Thrive!

Serve it over a warm slice of cornbread....mmmm....heaven.

I don't like super spicy things and I'd call this about a medium for heat.

Makes about 5 1/2 cups of chili.

Ingredients:
1 1/3 c. THRIVE Ground Beef (Hamburger) - Freeze Dried
2/3 c. THRIVE Chopped Onions - Freeze Dried
 1/4 c. THRIVE Tomato Powder
 2 1/2 tbsp. Chili Powder
 2 tsp. THRIVE Iodized Salt
 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1/8 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)
 1/4 tsp. ground cumin
 1/4 tsp. Dried Oregano
1/2 c. THRIVE Mixed Bell Peppers
2/3 c. THRIVE Tomato Dices - Freeze Dried
2/3 c. THRIVE Instant Pinto Beans

Directions:

In a clean, dry quart jar layer the ingredients in the order listed, tamping down when necessary to accommodate each layer. Place lid on and store to use within a month or so. For longer storage, seal with a vacuum sealer.

To cook the chili:
1. Pour 6 cups of water into a large pot or Dutch oven. Pour contents of jar meal into water and stir well to combine.
2. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
3. Remove from heat, cover with lid, and allow to sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Jar Meals: Taco Soup

One of THE most popular jar meal recipes, Taco Soup is delicious!  Several variations of it exist but this one is simple and delicious.

To change it up a bit you can serve it with tortilla chips or in a bread bowl.  I love to have shredded cheddar, sliced avocado, and sour cream as yummy additions to this hearty soup.

Ingredients:
3 Tbsp. taco seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 Tbsp. THRIVE Tomato Powder
1/4 c. THRIVE Chopped Onions - Freeze Dried
3/4 c. THRIVE Ground Hamburger - Freeze Dried
3/4 c. THRIVE Instant Pinto Beans
3/4 c. THRIVE Instant Black Beans
3/4 c. THRIVE Sweet Corn - Freeze Dried
2 Tbsp. THRIVE Green Chili Peppers - Freeze Dried

Directions:
1.  Layer ingredients in order into a clean, dry glass quart jar.
2.  Put on the lid and store in a cool, dark spot in your kitchen or pantry.   (see the Jar Meal page for info on long term storage of jar meals.)

To Use:
1.  Add 8 cups water (you may like less for a thicker, chili-like soup) to a pot.
2.  Pour in jar meal ingredients, stir well, and bring to a boil.
3.  Turn down heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until beans are cooked through.

The best way to prep jar meals is in bulk; here are the amounts for ordering if you want to make 15 jar meals of the Taco Soup.

Order these items from me:  (FD = freeze dried
1 pantry can of Tomato Powder
1 pantry can of Chopped Onion FD
1 can (#10) of Ground Hamburger FD
1 can (#10) of Instant Pinto Beans
1 can (#10) of Instant Black Beans
1 can (#10) of Sweet Corn FD
1 pantry can of Green Chili Peppers FD

You'll also need salt, pepper, and about 3 cups of taco seasoning.
