It's Spring, so it must also be SALE time!

Have I really not posted since February?  I shouldn't be surprised, I suppose.  I've been off doing parties, shows, and events like crazy sharing and promoting Thrive and all it has to offer!

But now it's time to hunker down and get ready for this BIG SALE!

I love the two big sales that Thrive does each year--Black Friday and the Spring Sale.  Such great times to save with big deals on all our foods as well as our famous shelving!  The sale opens early for Q club members and consultants (April 19).  For everyone else, shopping can be done from April 20-24.

I've got some helpful links listed for you at the bottom of this blog post, so stick around.

But take a gander at this on your way down there....here are some of the best ways to save during the sale:

1.  Shop Early!

If you already have a Q (and if you don't, you really should!), make sure you set it to process during the sale and early on.  Just change the date to the 19th if you are a Q club member, or to the 20th if you are not in the Q club.

If you don't have a Q and want to start one, let's get your first one to process during the sale!  You'll get even bigger savings!  Visit my website to get your Q started, or contact me directly and I can set it up for you over the phone!

If you don't have a Q and want to order, contact me about preordering!  I can place an order for you on the early bird day (the 19th).  If you don't want to preorder, you can order online yourself starting on the 20th.

Our most popular items will sell out fast, so get your order in early!

2.  Host & Score!

During the sale dates host an in-home tasting or just have your friends order online.  You'll not only get some great deals through your own orders, you will also earn FREE and HALF OFF food benefits that you can redeem after the sale is done and all the orders have processed.  Wonderful way to benefit!

3.  Join My Team!

Why not sign up and order from yourself?  You'll be saving big time and earning commission to boot!

The great thing about being a Thrive consultant is that once you buy a kit and set up your monthly Q, you're done!  I mean, you are certainly welcome to pursue Thrive as a serious business, but many of my team members are consultants simply because they love the food and want to get it in their homes with the most benefits.

4. Order in Bulk!

Order your favorite Thrive items by the case during the sale and save even more!  Don't need 6 family size cans of something?  Go in on it with a friend and share in the savings.  On the sale page, you will see pricing for 6-can cases (the family size cans, also known as #10 cans) and the pantry can cases (you get 10 pantry cans in these cases).

5.  Don't Forget the Snackies!

You've got summer vacation trips coming up, right?  Think ahead and order a bunch of Snackies for those road trips and plane trips.  When hungry mouths start begging for food, you'll be so glad that you had the forethought to get some healthy snacks for your crew!  Not to mention, your wallet will thank you...have you seen the cost of airport food lately?!

Bonus #1
You may already know about Thrive's new meal kit, the Taste of Thrive Intro Pack.  What you may not realize is that we have ANOTHER great meal kit called the Home Cookin' Ground Beef Pack. It's brand new, and during the sale it will be marked down from $100 to $85!!!!  This is awesome!!! Make sure you add it to your Q (that's what I did) or your shopping cart during the sale.  You'll be able to make all these recipes with that amazing meal kit.

Bonus #2
As if the great deal on the above mentioned meal kit wasn't enough, there's ANOTHER great meal kit deal available for you in connection with this sale.  When you spend $150 on product during this sale, you will get a promo code for FREE or HALF OFF shipping on our newest meal kit coming out in May!  It's a kit based on my very favorite Thrive Life meat:  Pulled Pork!  YES!!!  Check out the sales flyer, bottom of page 1 for more info.

Now that you're all excited for the big sale, I have to mention one more thing I don't want you to miss out on.  COOKIE DOUGH BITES!

That's right, freeze dried cookie dough bites....and if you've never had these, you're missing out.  Let me give you the scoop on why all the Thrive Life consultants and going nuts over the fact that they are available during this sale.  They were introduced at our convention last summer, but were only available to convention attendees.  And the tradition at Thrive is that convention specialty items don't get to the public.  UNTIL NOW!  So don't miss out....they are only available while supplies last and I can tell you that all the consultants are chompin' at the bit to get as many bags as we can, so you better order early! LOL

Now, as promised, here are some links for you:

Sale Flyer--this has some of the biggest discounted items featured
Picker Page--this is a one-stop shopping page for when the sale goes live, super easy!

Dinner is Ready!! Are you??

Hey, so you've probably heard of companies like Blue Apron or Hello Fresh, right?  You sign up and they send you a box of "fresh" food with a couple of recipes and then you have dinner all ready!

Sounds great, yeah?

Well, it's not that simple.

But with Thrive Life's Intro Pack, it IS that simple!

How so?

I'm glad you asked!

Let's take these one by one.  And then I promise I'll tell you all the juicy details of what you actually get in the Intro Pack.

3 advantages of the thrive life intro pack

1.  Thrive Life's Intro Pack does NOT require washing, chopping, dicing, etc.  The ingredients are ready to go right out of the can.  Even the meats are already cooked and ready!  This saves you time and energy, especially on days when you're already pooped from all that life mess that keeps happening every day!

2.  Thrive Life's Intro Pack foods are ALWAYS FRESH for you!  Friends and colleagues have tested some of these companies and report that often the food shows up partially rotted!  Even if it shows up fresh, you only have a short window of time before that wonderful, expensive food goes bad.  With Thrive, you don't have to worry about that.  It's ready when YOU are!

3.  Thrive Life's Intro Pack is a great VALUE!  Now, I can't report on every single meal kit company's details.  But I can tell you that these meals range anywhere from $9 to $15 PER SERVING!  Um, that's like restaurant pricing and you still have to do all the work!  With Thrive, the average price per serving in this kit is around $6.50.  That's quite a savings!

Are you intrigued yet?

Yeah.  I thought so.

So, now I get to address your curiosity about what is actually IN this kit and what you will actually get to MAKE with it.

Ready?
intro pack box

Here's the skinny on what comes with the kit (and you can see it above, too):

  • Seasoned Chicken Slices
  • Red Bell Peppers
  • Onion Slices
  • Green Chili Peppers
  • Sweet Corn
  • Instant Black Beans
  • Instant Brown Rice
  • Rainbow Farfalle
  • Chef's Choice Seasoning Blend
  • Veloute (Rich Chicken Gravy)
All of the items except the spice can are pantry can sizes.  The meat and veggies are all freeze dried and taste amazing!  The instant black beans and brown rice are HUGE time savers for you and our pasta is absolutely delicious.  The Chef's Choice seasoning (which we sometimes call Thrive Spice!) is a wonderful all-purpose seasoning blend and our Veloute (one of four tasty sauce mixes) is a much-loved pantry item in my home.

Okay, so that's what you get.  What can you make?
  • Tortilla Soup
  • Chicken Fajitas
  • Chicken Pasta Skillet
  • Zesty Black Beans
  • Green Chili & Sweet Corn Brown Rice
  • Effortless Queso Dip
  • Corn & Cheddar Biscuits

Now, just like those other companies' meal kits, the Thrive Life Intro Pack does require that you use some ingredients from your own pantry.  But these are items that you likely already have and buy on a regular basis.  If you'd like to peruse the recipes, check them out here.

But, look.....you can have dinner ready in under 20 minutes!!!

Seriously.

You know you want that!

And I can attest to the tastiness and ease of these recipes.  I've had them and they are just as tasty and easy as all the other Thrive recipes that I know and love.  And this pack comes with beautiful, full color half-page recipe cards that have easy-to-read instructions as well as step-by-step photos on the back.

And if you order it this month, you will get.....FREE SHIPPING!!!!!

You want a better experience in the kitchen?

Thrive just gave you one.

And dropped the mic, I might add.

Order your pack here or email me at gimmethrive(at)gmail(dot)com for more information.

"Gimme Thrive" Eggnog Cookies

Most of my family loves eggnog, so finding an eggnog-ish cookie recipe was a fun discovery that we've come to love (most of us....still have an eggnog-hating child).

I thought I'd try using the Thrive Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix with it and see how it turned out.

LOVE IT!

But really, you can use any sugar cookie recipe or mix.  Just add in the rum extract and nutmeg to the dough before baking and mix it in well.  Still why not use a mix that's ready to go and sooooo delicious!

Enjoy!!

Ingredients:
3/4 c. butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. rum extract
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 1/3 c. THRIVE Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix

Glaze
4 tbsp. butter, melted
2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. rum extract
2 tbsp.water

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Cream the butter in a mixer. Add in the egg, water, nutmeg, and rum extract. Scrape down sides of bowl. Add cookie mix and mix until well blended.

Drop cookie dough by small cookie-scoopfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges just start to turn golden. Remove to rack to cool completely.

Glaze: Combine the glaze ingredients and whisk well to create a smooth glaze. Pour by teaspoonfuls onto cooled cookies. Dust with a little nutmeg, if desired.

Recipes for Meals-in-a-Jar Packs--Black Friday Sale!

Black Friday means awesome savings!!  And it's a great time to order supplies for jar meals, whether you're making them for yourself so you can have quick meals during this busy holiday time OR making them to give as gifts this holiday season!

PC=pantry can
#10=#10 size can/family size
FD=freeze dried

You can easily use half of a recipe for a pint jar, which is perfect for those only needing to cook for 1 or 2.  Each quart jar meal serves about 4 people, depending on serving size.  You can layer the ingredients in canning jars (they look really great that way and are the best way to gift them).  Or you can put them in ziploc bags!

CLICK HERE to purchase these items during the Black Friday sale (Nov 22-28) OR you can contact me with what you want to order and I will place the order for you.

All of the recipes below are very popular with my customers and are favorites among my fellow Thrive consultants!  There are a few non-Thrive ingredients in each recipe, but you likely have those in your pantry already!

TACO SOUP by Melissa Coombs

Put in quart jar in this order:
3 Tbsp. taco seasoning
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. black pepper
3 Tbsp. THRIVE Tomato Powder
¼ cup THRIVE FD Chopped Onions
¾ cup THRIVE FD Ground Beef
¾ cup THRIVE Instant Pinto Beans
¾ cup THRIVE Instant Black Beans
¾ cup THRIVE FD Sweet Corn
2 Tbsp. THRIVE FD Green Chilies

To prepare:
Dump all into a pot with 8 cups of water (more or less can be used depending on your preference). Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until beans are cooked through. Serve with sour cream, shredded cheese, tortilla chips, etc.

BEEF STROGANOFF by Shelli Rasmussen

Put in a quart jar in this order:
1 cup FD Beef Dices or Ground Beef
2 cups Egg Noodles (you can also buy curly egg noodles at your grocery store)
1/3 cup Espagnole (Savory Beef Gravy)
1/4 cup FD Chopped Onions
1/4 cup Sour Cream Powder
1 tsp Chef's Choice Seasoning Blend
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 1/4 TBSP Salad Seasoning Blend

To prepare:
Bring 5 cups of water to a boil. Pour contents of jar in the water. Let return to full boil. Reduce to medium heat and simmer for 12-15 minutes or until noodles are done. You may need to add in a little more water as it is cooking- it will depend on what kind of noodles you used and how many you crammed in to your 2 cups! : ) Cover and let sit for 8-10 minutes before serving.

CHICKEN FAJITAS

Put in a quart jar in this order:
1 1/4 cups FD Seasoned Chicken Slices
3/4 cup FD Onion Slices
1/3 cup FD Green Chili Peppers
1/2 cup FD Green Bell Peppers
1/2 cup FD Red Green Peppers
1/2 tsp Chicken Bouillon
1 tsp FD Cilantro
1/2 tsp Chef's Choice Seasoning
1 tsp Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Cumin
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Salt (or less if you prefer)
A Pinch of Thrive Limeade Powder (or squeeze some fresh lime over chicken fajitas before serving.)

To prepare:
In a bowl, add contents of jar to 2 cups of hot water and let sit for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. You want to make sure the chicken peices have absorbed the water. There may be a little water in the bottom of the bowl after the 10 minutes and that's ok. Add 1 TBSP of olive oil to a skillet and get it hot. Pour in chicken mixture and stir to lightly brown the chicken and heat completely. Serve on flour tortillas (or in romaine lettuce leaves) with your favorite toppings, like cheese, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, etc.

FRANCESCA'S UNSTUFFED PEPPER SOUP by Francesca Hutchinson

Put in quart jar in this order:
(photo used with permission)
 ½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Pepper
½ cup Tomato Powder
1 tsp Freeze Dried Garlic (can use ½ tsp garlic powder instead)
1 TBSP Italian Seasoning
1 ½ TBSP Beef Bouillon
¼ cup Freeze Dried Onions
1 cup Instant White Rice or Instant Brown Rice
1 cup Freeze Dried Ground Beef
½ cup Freeze Dried Red Peppers
½ cup Freeze Dried Green Peppers

To prepare:
Dump all ingredients from this jar into a pot. Add 8 cups water (you might like more or less water). Bring to a boil, turn down to medium heat and let simmer for 10-12 minutes. Add more salt or seasonings if you like. Serve topped with your favorite cheese.

This is also amazing as a casserole. Francesca's original recipe said to dump contents of jar into a bowl and add 3 cups of water. Let sit for 20 minutes to rehydrate. Pour into a casserole dish and top with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

SAUSAGE ZUPPA TOSCANA

(photo used with permission)

 ½ cup Sour Cream Powder
1 TBSP Chicken Bouillon
½ tsp Crushed Red Pepper
½ tsp Freeze Dried Garlic (or use some garlic powder instead)
½ cup FD Chopped Spinach
¼ cup Freeze Dried Onions
1 cup Instant Pinto Beans
1 cup Freeze Dried Sausage Crumbles
1 ½ cups Potato Chunks (dehydrated)

To prepare in a crock pot, add soup to 8 cups of water and cook on low for 4 hours. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and bread sticks.

To cook in a pot, dump all ingredients of this jar into a pot. Add 8-9 cups of water. Bring to a boil, turn down to medium heat and let simmer for about 20 minutes or until potatoes and beans are tender.

Ideas for Black Friday--GIFTS!!!!

Every year you do it.  Try to figure out what on earth to get for:
  • your kids' teachers
  • your neighbors
  • your friends
  • your coworkers
  • surprise visitors bearing gifts

We have SO many things.  Why get someone yet another trinket?  Why give yet another plate of goodies that will just go bad in a week or so?

Why not give something that they can actually use....and use up?!?!

I have a few good ideas for gifts that you can give.  Our pantry can sizes are the PERFECT size for gift giving.  And when you order these items by the case, you'll save even more money during the Black Friday sale!  The sale goes live for the public on Wednesday November 23, but you can preorder through me on Tuesday (contact me at gimmethrive (at) gmail (dot) com).

My family LOVES to make all sorts of cookies out of our Classic Cookie Dough Mix.  Just add butter and water and whatever else you want:  chocolate chips, toffee bits, nuts, etc.  And I love making quick sugar cookies out of our Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix!  (I also like to frost them with homemade buttercream that I've flavored with powdered Thrive strawberries...so good!).  The brownies and the macaroons are JUST ADD WATER MIXES!!!  And the macaroons are gluten free!!!

The point is, these are great to give because then people can decide when THEY want to have them!

Our bread dough mixes come out perfect EVERY time!  I love them.  I can make them into rolls, loaf bread, pizza crust, cinnamon rolls!  They're very versatile.  They are just add water and yeast mixes.  Our cornbread mix is a tasty way to add cornbread slices or muffins to a hearty meal.  And it's a JUST ADD WATER mix!!!

If there's any beverage synonymous with the holiday season, it's cocoa!!!
So many people absolutely LOVE these yogurt bites--they are addictive!!!  We have so many flavors to choose from but my personal favorites are Pomegranate and Vanilla....and they are AMAZING sprinkled in our cocoa!!!

Now if you're a parent of adult kids and grandkids, maybe you're looking to give the gift of preparation!  I know of several parents and grandparents who have given long-term food storage to their families for a Christmas gift.  It can often be hard for young families to budget for long term food storage so this is a FANTASTIC idea for a meaningful gift!

And, BONUS, order some of these big packages and you could earn some serious FREE and HALF OFF food when we order it as a "party" with YOU as the host!

Follow the link to my Black Friday shopping page to get more details about exactly what is in each package.  And there are more packages than what are pictured below, so browse around and see what you like best!
